The Columbus Library has many local branches around the city. Many come to spend hours find new books, movies, or music. However, some of the branches can be two or three floors. Finding the perfect book can be overwhelming. The brand new kiosk will be a huge factor in making sure that users can find what they are looking for without hassle.
The kiosk will start with the user scanning their library card. If they do not have one, the card can be created by a librarian. When the card has been scanned, the user will be directed to the home page. The home page will consist of the profile, trending books, a search bar, and the map. The profile can be customized to find the content the user usually likes. Their trending books will be specifically for them. When it’s time to search for their item, the user can either search by collection. The collection will consist of books, music, and movies. The user can filter their search as well. When the item is picked, the user can add it to their bookshelf for later. The bookshelf can be found in the user’s profile. If the item is available in that particular branch, the user can find it on the map. The wayfinding map will directly lead the user to the shelf and section of where the item is found.
